The meaning of life

What is the meaning of life?

This is one of the central questions facing mankind. There are two schools of thought that attempt to address this question: religion and philosophy. The meaning of life addresses such thoughts as why are we here, what is death and what the hell am I doing in this classroom?

In religion the meaning of life is a central question regardless of the religion. Most attempt to answer this question by throwing God into the picture and explaining things in such a way that you have to simply believe the story.

From the philosophical perspective, the meaning of life is addressed using critical, systematic and rational arguments.

A scientific approach would be to consider life itself as starter. Evolution describes the path of life from the beginning to the present day. Intelligence can be described scientifically and ultimately consciousness is the basis for asking the question.

In popular culture, the meaning of life has been considered through drug culture, for example due to the taking of mind altering drugs. Aldous Huxley pioneered the use of mescaline to gaining insights into what he termed the Perenial Philosophy and also wrote the book The Doors of Perception

  1. The meaning of life

    - Definition: a question to which everybody has a different answer and mostly does not know what to answer
    - Enjoying myself
    - Reaching aims
    - Experience the world and its cultures
    - Experience danger and fun, sadness and happiness
    - Founding a family, give children to the world

The meaning of life, a question to which everybody has a different answer and which not everybody can answer.
Everybody has different values in life and the meaning of life is as different as the countries and cultures in the world.
For me, the meaning of life is enjoying myself but also reaching aims and experiencing the world and its cultures.
I also want to experience danger and fun, sadness and happiness and I want to found a family and have children.
In my opinion, the last point is also the religious meaning of life, founding families and having children to keep the world alive.

  2. What’s the meaning of life?
The meaning of life is the question that people deal with for a very long time. No one can tell anyone what the meaning of life is, because it is not the same for anyone. Some people have a fulfilled life by having a family; others have one by being successful and satisfied in their job. Everybody of us has another way of thinking and handling.

There are two ways of discussing this question: Religious and philosophical. In religion, people ask their self questions about God and what is the sense of life as well as Philosophers do. But Philosophy is more or less more spiritual.

Religious people often think their meaning of life is to do their best in a social aspect and live their life in the same way God did. It is very important for them to help other people and appreciate the life of they are given. It is a gift to live and one should enjoy it every day and live it the best way that is possible.

People, who try to explain the meaning of life in a Philosophical way, want to describe how a life can make sense and what anyone could achieve in his or her life. Philosophers try to catch the sense of life with help from old documents, for example what people in further times wrote about the meaning of life. They create theories about the sense and write it down to help mankind with understanding the meaning of life.

Above all, no one can tell us we are wrong in living our lives the way we want to, because there is no general recipe existing. God gave us the freedom to choose how we live our life, and it is to us how we do it. But one thing is sure: We all have to live our lives the way we are happy with this way. Life is a gift and we should be happy that we have the possibility to live and simply enjoy it. Life is right, by living it right!

  4. What is the meaning of life?
I think it is a good question to ask. We all see life from a different prospective. Which means each and every one of us lives it differently!?!
Philosophers have been dealing with questions like this for the past decades now and we still can’t answer a question like this without thinking about it for a minute or two. According to philosophers and religious people life is a mixture of “existence, consciousness and happiness”. Also issues such as ethnic, value, good and evil and free will. Well, there’s a true to that but we humans are so different from each other that we can’t have the same values or see the same purpose in life. I’m a young adult so my values or conscious is definitely different from some one that is older than I am. So, what is the meaning of life for me?
Well, life to me means a lot. I’m living and loving it. I know I will not live forever but the little time I have on this god giving Earth I’m surely going to enjoy it. That doesn’t mean I’m not seeing what is happening around me but I’m trying to make the best of it. I was raised in a religious home with different religions. Let me explain that, well my grandma and other family member are Muslims and my parents are Christians we the kids had the pleasure to learn and understand those mentioned religions. Of course it is important to live life the right way. What the right way is?? The right of living life is actually very simple. Don’t live it in a selfish way. Help people that are in need (if you can afford it), don’t kill anybody (sad that is even necessary to mention this but if you like at the world we are living now, I need to point that out), don’t use religion as an excuse to be doing stupid stuff, respect and accept others, mind your business (instead of you looking at what your neighbor is doing or how they living their live you should get your behind up and start living yours), be thankful and grateful for life itself. I follow all those point that I mention and also try my best be happy in life. I don’t need a million Euros to be happy. No not at all! Having my family around, people that I care about and cares about me, a beautiful sunny day makes me happy. The little gestures in life from people that truly and honestly loves me makes life worth living.
